Between a full project calendar and traveling monthly, I often find myself getting too busy to update my site. Boo hoo. What a terrible problem to have… I know, I know. Because of this, I have been using Dribbble as a way to share what I have been working on. I’ve also been using it as a good reason to create some fun little personal projects.

I recently re-branded Catch & the Oyster Bar, a beautiful two-story venue in the historic Imperial Bank of Canada building. Catch has an outstanding reputation for its cuisine and was voted 2011 Best Seafood Restaurant in Calgary. Working with San Francisco interior design firm EDG, we created an all-new identity for the space. This meant considering everything from the identity, menus and graphics… and the materials used for each.

More to come from this project soon.

When discussing concepts with snowboard apparel giant 686 for their Spring 2012 line, the idea of city-centered graphics came up. Being that the brand is based in Southern California and that I am an ex-Angeleno, I knew that I wanted to create a tee graphic that gave a nod to the Los Angeles Lakers. Of course, I’m talking about the classic era of Lakers all-stars like Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar… the good ol’ days.

You can purchase this tee in 3 colorways at 686.

Inspired by a recent trip to Paris, I designed this title block graphic for a travel blog. Narrow cobblestone alleys, remnants of old hand-painted signs and some of the most deliciously decadent food the world has ever known truly make this one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Getting lost in Paris is a great way to spend a day.

The team over at 686 Apparel recently created this amazing little video highlighting “the most popular pieces from the 2011-2012 Winter Collection”. I am proud to say that Crosshatch, one of the four tees that I designed for 686 this season, is featured in the video.
Wow, the hits just keep on coming! This week it was announced that the Mountain Dew DEWmocracy campaign that I was an art director on won the International Audience Award from Field Marketing & Brand Experience magazine. Field Marketing & Brand Experience magazine is the quarterly magazine for the face to face marketing industry. Winning this award feels great, especially when going up against marketing giants such as Coca Cola, Dos Equis, TaylorMade and SAS Airlines. Congratulations to the entire Motive team that made working on this campaign so incredible.

FUN is OK Featured

Several months ago, I was contacted by a book publisher with an invitation to be included in the new Logology 2 book. Of course, I am proud to be part of the new book… especially after seeing the caliber of work in the first Logology. Then the book arrived and I was blown away. Upon flipping through the pages of this beautifully designed book, I found that 9 of my logo designs had been featured.

“Logology 2 collects a diverse array of logos, symbols, icons, mascots, emblems and graphics that all effectively achieve the goal of arresting one’s attention and entering our neural networks. This book ambitiously sets out to predict the needs of tomorrow and the future of the logo, that most fundamental unit of communication design.“

Below are my logos that are featured in the book.
